The PNC Bank branch on Main Street in downtown Butler will close this summer.
A spokeswoman confirmed the branch located in the 100 block of South Main Street will be consolidated. The last day of business will reportedly be Friday, August 17th. All accounts created at that branch will be transferred to the Clearview Mall location.
The decision to close the branch was made as a result of the changing ways that customers use branch locations. Many customers have been using more convenient alternative methods to conduct transactions leading to adjustments in PNC’s branch network.
Customers will continue to be able to use whichever branch is most convenient including the drive-up location on New Castle Street which will remain open.
