A contractor has been chosen to complete a project that will improve a street near a Butler City apartment building and park.
The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Butler accepted a bid from Heeter Enterprises, Inc at a cost of just over $156,000 to replace parts Lincoln Avenue, near Father Marinaro Park. Engineer Ron Olsen recommended that this bid be accepted from among the five total bids received.
The first phase of the project is reconstructing from Short Street to Grant Street, near The Arbors housing units. This work will include ADA compliant curbs and is expected to be completed within 90 to 120 days.
Heeter is based in Emlenton, Clarion County and has done work for the authority in the past. Money to pay for this project is expected to come from over $185,000 set aside for street improvements in the 2015 and 2017 Community Development Block Grants.
