A Philadelphia man arrested last year as part of a drug ring in Butler County will serve time in prison.
39-year-old Bobby Askew was sentenced to 27 months in prison along with six years of supervised release.
Askew and eight other men in the “Overton Crew” were taken into custody in June of 2020 for conspiring to distribute at least 40 grams fentanyl, over 100 grams of heroin and cocaine beginning in 2017.
The Department of Justice says that Askew distributed drugs on a regular basis in Butler within 1,000 feet of multiple schools. He was also convicted of trafficking crack cocaine in Philadelphia in 2009.
The Butler County District Attorney Drug Task Force was joined by the FBI and the State Police in the investigation into the local crimes.
