The topic of local baseball and field use is expected to be a large part of the agenda at a couple of meetings in East Butler tonight.
The East Butler Borough Council is having their monthly meeting at 7 p.m. at the East Butler Fire Hall. Much of the conversation about tonight’s meeting is expected to center around the use of the baseball fields.
The borough terminated the agreement with the East Butler Baseball Association and locked gates to Speed-o Field in early August, with the solicitor saying that the association has been “totally unreasonable” during contract negotiations.
The East Butler Baseball Association then said that the borough is trying to take over the operations of the field at the expense of those local residents who have cared for the facility and used it most.
