Millions of dollars are coming to local school districts as part of the American Rescue Plan.
State Education officials are now weighing in on how districts should use those funds.
“Next we recommend strongly that districts put systems in place to differentiate and provide different levels of instruction for students based on the areas they’re finding where students may have gaps,” Noe Ortega, acting secretary of education, said.
Ortega also said that districts should set up systems to provide different levels of instruction for students where they believe education gaps remain.
“These funds are going to allow districts across the Commonwealth to address issues of learning loss, social and emotional wellness, provide academic support and support to underrepresented students,” Ortega added.
Locally, Butler Area School District received over $11 million from the American Rescue Plan to address issues like lost learning.
