The interim director of Butler County’s election department is asking for the public to stop calling the office inquiring about mail-in ballots.
Wil White, who is also the county solicitor, says the department is currently processing and mailing out the ballots. He adds that online it may say your ballot is processed, but that doesn’t mean it should have been mailed out.
White says nearly 18,000 voters have requested mail-in ballots in the county and expects that number to grow.
However, the elections department only has seven employees and he says they are receiving around 1,000 phone calls each day. He asks for voters to be patient and that the ballots are currently being mailed out.
