Butler County’s Election Director says operations went smoothly yesterday.
Aaron Sheasley told our newsroom that the Bureau of Elections uploaded the data in one complete bunch, opposed to trickling it in throughout the evening.
He said that the decision was made in order to avoid any confusion throughout the night, even though it may have sacrificed timely reporting.
Sheasley also added that very few issues arose throughout the day—just the typical hang-ups that happen during an election.
Voter turnout in the county was just over 33%, which equates to more than 42,000 people who cast a ballot. Nearly 9,000 people voted by mail-in ballot.
