The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is looking to engage residents through an upcoming webinar as well as a new program.
PennDOT and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection are teaming up to offer a free, public, informational presentation about the benefits and what to know about driving electric vehicles. This webinar will be offered Wednesday beginning at 11 a.m. and then again on Thursday at 6 p.m. Electric vehicle experts will discuss buying, charging, and driving the vehicles as well as lifetime cost savings and available state rebates. PennDOT is also inviting residents to participate in the new Safety Citizens Program which encourages participants to answer traffic safety questions in original and creative ways. Teen Driver Safety is the first topic and community members can submit a short video, poem, original piece of artwork, or use some other medium to respond to the question of what every teen driver should know before getting behind the wheel. Submissions are due by tomorrow and selected submissions will be displayed on PennDOT’s statewide social media platforms.
