The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Butler will transfer a bill for emergency phone service at the Tier Garage to the City but will not ask for the City to refund them the money they have been paying.
The Authority moved into the office on West Cunningham Street in 2017 at the invitation of the City free of charge.
At that time, the Authority began paying a $64 per month bill to Consolidated Communications for phone service but only recently found out that service only covers the emergency alert system for the garage which is still owned by the city.
When informed of the situation by the Authority, a City official suggested transferring the name and address on all future bills to the City and the City solicitor who is also the Authority solicitor concurred. The Authority decided not to ask for just under $3,000 in reimbursement for the bills they have been paying since 2017.
