Betting favorite Essential Quality is the 2021 winner of the Belmont Stakes following Saturday’s running of the annual race.
Essential Quality held 6-5 odds heading into the 153rd running of the race.
Saturday’s win was trainer Bob Cox’s first Triple Crown victory of the 2021 season. Cox may earn a second win if Medina Spirit is disqualified due to positive tests from this year’s Kentucky Derby.
