Eugene Courtney Fehl went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 8,2021 at Butler Hospital after a battle with covid. Born August 6, 1935, the son of the late Ira Fehl and Helen (Courtney) Fehl Barnes, stepson of Karl Barnes. He graduated in 1953 from Butler High School, proudly served 4 years in the US Navy, then retired from Armco Steel after 35 years.
He married the love of his life, Carol Robinson on October 18, 1958. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Scott (Debbie) Fehl, daughter, Shelbi (Rick) Hackett, 4 grandchildren, Brandon, Brent, Holli and Kyle, and 8 great grandchildren, Braedyn, Lucy, Brooks, Lili, Brighton, Everli, Audri and Levi. Gene loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Fehl.
Gene quietly enjoyed serving at Pine Valley Bible Camp, building houses for underprivileged families, and volunteering, behind the scenes, at church. He enjoyed wintering in Florida, Gospel concerts and his shanty in the woods.
His humor and firm belief in serving God were most certainly gifts from glory. He knew he was a son of the King and was not going to live on this earth forever but would one day be called home to be with the Lord, whom he served so faithfully. Gene has left behind a rich harvest of memories to cherish, honor, and emulate.
