As McConnells Mill State Park observes 66 years of existence, a presentation later this week will take a closer look at that history.
A gathering is planned from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Kildoo Picnic Pavilion.
Visitors will learn how Ice Age events created many of the geological features currently observed at the park such as the Slippery Rock Gorge.
These natural features enabled early settlers to establish the historical gristmill business before the transition to a unique park complete with waterfalls, trails, and picturesque scenery.
