An event this weekend will honor local lives lost due to overdoses.
The third annual Butler County Remembers is set for Saturday—which is also International Overdose Awareness Day.
The Butler County Opioid Overdose Coalition event will remember those who have passed without stigma and with acknowledgment of the grief of families.
The gathering begins with a 7:30 p.m. service at First United Methodist Church on East North Street, followed by a one-mile candlelit awareness walk down Main Street.
Family and friends are invited to attend with pictures of their loved ones and will be given an opportunity to speak.
41 lives were lost to overdoses in Butler County last year. Visit the Butler First Step Facebook page for more information.
