The Department of Education is once again delaying its rollout of the updated federal financial aid application.
Better known as FAFSA, the application period usually starts in October each year for students to fill out for the following academic year.
However, last year the Department of Education struggled with updated technology that did not adjust for inflation—causing an over billion-dollar deficit for families seeking aid.
The agency announced yesterday that it will begin testing the new FAFSA application for “limited set of students” in October of this year.
It will then be made open to the public starting in December.
