A local business is moving forward with plans for more outdoor events and activities following a decision by the Butler Township Zoning Hearing Board.
Earlier this week, the board heard an appeal filed by Family Bowlaway concerning a Special Exception for outdoor recreation and activity as well as a variance for a reduction in minimum required parking spaces.
At this continuation of a hearing started in October, property owners and representatives discussed their plans for continuing to evolve the facility, especially between May and November when not as many customers are engaged in bowling.
The decision to grant the special exception allows for the progression of a land development plan that would see the addition of restroom facilities as well as the use of temporary structures for seasonal use. Although this area would be in operation until 2 a.m. in the summer months, a noise reduction rule would be enforced at 11 p.m. daily.
