A family in Westmoreland County is suing a nursing home in Lower Burrell saying their mother was allegedly killed by a former nurse, who is also facing homicide charges in Butler.
40-year-old Heather Pressdee is being charged by the attorney general’s office for the deaths of two patients at Quality Life Services in Chicora after she allegedly administered lethal doses of insulin to two patients.
Now, Pressdee is being accused by a family for what would be the third death under her watch. The family says Pressdee also provided a lethal amount of insulin to 67-year-old Marianne Bowser of Freeport. The incident happened at Belair Healthcare and Rehabilitation two years ago.
The Law firm Robert Peirce and Associates is representing the Bowser family in the lawsuit. Robert Peirce says his law firm is still in the preliminary investigative stage and there still may be more to come.
“We are optimisitic that Belair and their lawyers will work with Ms. Bowser’s family. But, we are also concerned that there is more information to come and that this situation may be worse in the future,” Peirce said.
The two criminal charges against Pressdee were filed earlier this year, stemming fromce said deaths that happened in December 2022.
