A large donation from a local bank will allow Butler County Community College to offer educational programs for elementary school kids as well as high schoolers.
Farmers National Bank of Emlenton recently made a $17,000 gift through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program to the College’s Education Foundation.
Some of that money will be used for BC3’s Stock Market Game which teaches financial literacy to 700 fourth graders at 18 regional schools.
The rest of the donation will be put towards BC3’s College Within the High School Program that offers college-level courses in a variety subjects as well as study, note taking, and time-management skills. This program was utilized by over 400 sophomores, juniors and seniors in 22 high schools across seven counties last year.
