Authorities have released more information about a fatal crash that occurred last week in Butler Township.
According to Butler Township Police, a motorcycle driven by 43-year-old James Johns of Butler collided into the rear of an SUV around 6 p.m. Friday on Route 422 east between Route 356 and Route 8.
Johns was thrown from the motorcycle onto the pavement and suffered fatal injuries. Three motorists in the SUV were not injured. This crash remains under investigation but speed is thought to be a factor.
Route 422 east from Route 356 to Route 8 was closed for over three hours following Friday’s crash while law enforcement and emergency responders worked to clear the scene.
