Democratic Senate candidate John Fetterman made a stop in Butler County last night.
Fetterman spoke to a crowd at the Steamfitters Center in Harmony for roughly 20 minutes.
During that time, he criticized Republican candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz on a number of fronts, but also addressed policy issues like raising the minimum wage, defending a woman’s right to choose, and expanding healthcare.
He also took time to defend his record on crime, citing his time as mayor of Braddock.
“We had a significant gun violence problem in Braddock. That’s the reason why I started to run in the very first time in 2005,” Fetterman said. “That’s what I started and I am so proud because I was able to partner with the police and fund the police.”
Fetterman also talked about his stroke back in May. He says he still has auditory processing issues, but says he is on track to make a full recovery.
