As the uncertainty of the pandemic continues, local residents concerned about bills and finances have several options for relief.
Any Butler County resident in need of help paying past due rent should contact Catholic Charities to find out if assistance is available (724-287-4011). Local residents in need of mortgage assistance are asked to get in touch with the Center for Community Resources (1-855-284-2494).
Also, there is still time for residents in need of help paying home utility bills to apply for a state program. The Department of Human Services administers the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program or LIHEAP. The Recovery Crisis portion of the program offers a crisis benefit payment made directly to utility companies but only until August 31st. Contact the PA Department of Human Services for an application or more information about this program.
