A house was significantly damaged in a house fire that happened in Brady Township on New Year’s Eve.
Crews were called to a home in the 100 block of West Lane for a porch on fire shortly before 8:30 p.m.
When firefighters got on scene, they found flames shooting from the home.
Crews were able to get the fire under control in less than an hour. While the family was able to get out of the home, two cats did die in the fire.
According to the homeowners, the fire started when a heat lamp that was helping keep a pet pig warm, caught on fire to nearby hay. The pig was able to escape the fire as well.
