Tuesday is the first day to circulate and file nomination petitions for Pennsylvania’s revised congressional districts.
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled the previous map unconstitutional last month and last week issued a revised map that splits Butler County between the new 15th, 16th, and 17th districts. Butler County is currently contained within the 3rd Congressional District represented by Butler native Mike Kelly.
Republican leaders and lawmakers have stated their desire to get an injunction from the US Supreme Court that would halt the implementation of the new map.
March 20th is the last day for candidates to circulate and file nomination petitions under the new and revised district map for the May 15th primary election.
