The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is expecting to restock the same amount of trout into state waterways in 2021 as they did this year.
“We stock about 3.2 million trout annually, and typically we begin those stockings in the spring around March 1st,” Tim Schaeffer, executive director of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission said.
He says normally volunteers help distribute the trout, but that was tougher this year with COVID-19.
“We can’t wait to get the (volunteers) out here back with us,” Schaeffer said. “As soon as we feel it’s safe, and we can put the right protocols in place to do so safely, we welcome the help and frankly the fun of having the volunteers with us.”
