Florence Arlene (Bowser) Hinton, 94, of Butler, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 30, 2023.
Born March 23, 1929, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Raymond J. and the late Gertrude A. (Foster) Bowser.
Florence was a graduate of Butler High School. She was a great homemaker, and later, went to work for Butler Florist until her retirement in 1989. Florence was also a long time member of North Main Street Church of God. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Always wearing a smile, Florence was adored by everyone she met.
Florence is survived by her daughter, Debby L. Miller; her two sons: Jack W. Hinton, Jr. and his wife, Mary Lou and Raymond E. Hinton and his fiancé, Christine Eiler ; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Jack W. Hinton, Sr., whom she married on June 23, 1949 and who passed away on May 18, 2016, and five sisters.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 1-3 and 5-7 PM at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 E. North St., Butler, PA 16001. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Bob Edmundson officiating.
Burial will take place in Butler County Memorial Park.
