Flu cases were at extraordinary levels last year, but the state is seeing a rise in cases this winter.
So far, there are more than 5,000 lab confirmed flu cases and two flu-associated deaths in Pennsylvania.
Department of Health officials are encouraging all state residents to get the flu vaccine if they haven’t already.
They also remind people that symptoms of the flu are similar to COVID, and that it’s important to get tested if you start to experience a fever, cough, and tiredness.
