Health officials say that flu cases continue to remain low all across the state—and here in Butler County.
Butler Health System Chief Medical Officer Dr. David Rottinghaus explains the numbers behind this year’s flu season.
“In our state in any given year, in a season like H1N1, there were a couple million. In an average year, the minimum number of cases is in the hundreds of thousands. Typically like 600,000 to 800,000. The fact that we have 2,500 cases confirmed right now across Pennsylvania is just absolutely staggering low.”
Rottinghaus says this is the impact of consistent mask wearing, social distancing, and hand washing.
