A longtime Butler County educator and one of the first teachers ever at Knoch High School has died.
John Bacon passed away Sunday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.
He was a veteran that served in World War II before eventually entering a career in education.
Bacon took a job teaching physics at the newly opened Knoch High School in 1958. He was then hired to serve as Dean of Science and Technology at Butler County Community College in 1965, where he worked for 20 years until his retirement.
Private services are being held today at the Fox Funeral Home in Saxonburg.
Bacon was 95.
