A former Kennedy Catholic star basketball player has announced on social media that he is going to transfer to Slippery Rock University after he graduates from Duquesne this spring. Maceo Austin has not played the past two seasons, focusing on his undergraduate degree. The four-time high school state champion will have two years of eligibility left and plans to pursue a Masters degree at The Rock. He started at guard in 19 of 20 games during his freshman year at Duquesne, then stepped away from playing after a Covid-shortened 2020-21 season. Austin scored nearly 2,000 points during his high school career.
