A former Knoch High School principal and active volunteer in youth sports has died.
Regis Schiebel of Cabot passed away at Concordia Lutheran Ministries on Sunday.
Schiebel was an assistant principal at the high school until 1993 and served as the “Voice of the Knoch Knights” as the public address announcer for Knoch football until a few years ago. He started his career at Knoch High School as a math teacher.
He served as the President of the district’s scholarship foundation board. Schiebel was also a member of the Knoch High School Sports Hall of Fame Committee, in which he was inducted into in 2016.
Other positions he held within the community included Trustee Emeritus of the Knoch Knights Legacies Foundation, past board member of Slippery Rock University Foundation, board member of the Butler County YMCA, and he was a member of the Butler County Rotary,
Visitation and funeral services will be private and held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cabot.
Schiebel was 86.
