Adams Township and Mars Borough are joining forces with NASA for a new education center in downtown Mars.
Our news partners WPXI-TV report that the former Mars Bank and now NexTier Bank facility will be reinvented for a multi-story library and NASA education discovery center.
The plan for the center includes connecting Mars residents with STEAM education as NASA is a partner with the township and borough.
The project has been in the works for the last five years but has just been made public and the cost has not been determined as the project moves into the design phase.
According to WPXI, the goal is to actually begin physical action to realize the project in 2026.
The final building will also house a satellite space for NexTier Bank.
