Former Pittsburgh Penguins general manager Ray Shero has passed away at the age of 62. Shero built the Penguins team around Sidney Crosby that went on to win the Stanley Cup in 2009. He was hired to replace Craig Patrick in 2006, inheriting the core talent of Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Marc-Andre Fleury. Shero spent more than three decades in the NHL, and most recently had been working for the Minnesota Wild. He was also actively involved with USA Hockey.
The Penn State hockey team will face-off against Boston tonight in the NCAA Frozen Four. The game begins at 8:30pm in St. Louis and will be televised on ESPN2. It is the first ever appearance in the Frozen Four for the Nittany Lions.
Denver and Western Michigan meet in the other national semifinal game. The two winners will play for the national championship Saturday night.
