A well-respected member of the Butler community and former education administrator has died after a bicycle accident that happened earlier this week.
Dr. Henry Sinopoli passed away Friday afternoon at Allegheny General Hospital. He was involved in an early morning crash Tuesday while riding his bicycle on North Washington Street at the intersection with West Brady Street.
Sinopoli was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital and then flown to Pittsburgh.
Butler City Police say the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police.
Sinopoli was actively involved in the community, helping with events at the YMCA. He also hosted the “Business Minute” which aired on WISR 680 AM.
Sinopoli was 74.
Funeral arrangements were not immediately available, and police say the family is requesting privacy at this time.
