A former high-ranking official at Slippery Rock University is now suing the university, its president, and the state system of higher education.
The Rocket, which is the student newspaper, is reporting that former provost Abbey Zink filed five counts in a lawsuit, four of those against current President Dr. Bill Behre.
According to the suit, Zink says she was denied her first amendment rights and due process when she was let go from both her provost position and teaching job in the English Department.
Neither Zink nor the University gave a comment on the suit citing the pending legal action.
Zink was hired as the provost in late 2019 before being let go in April of this year.
