Foxburg residents are still under a boil water advisory today.
Officials for the Foxburg Area Water and Sewer Authority said they found the leak that was causing the issue and believe the problem has been isolated.
“As of 5:00 PM last night, all of our customers had water service, but the Boil Water Advisory is still in effect,” Foxburg Area Water and Sewer Authority’s Gwen Atwood said in an email.
“In order to lift the Boil Water Advisory, our system must stabilize and then a sample be pulled for lab testing. A 2nd sample will be pulled 24 hours from the first and both must pass testing – meaning no contaminants found,” Atwood said.
If either of the samples fail, the sampling process starts over. Once the Authority has passed the sampling process, the Department of Environmental Protection is notified and will need to give the Authority permission to lift the Boil Water Advisory.
