Frank J. “Sal” Russo, Jr., age 77, of Butler, passed away Sunday, April 15, at his residence.
Born November 12, 1940 in Butler, he was a son of the late Frank J. and Emma Cousins Russo, Sr.
He was employed for 30 years as a steel inspector at Butler Armco.
Sal served in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Merchant Marine. He was a member of American Legion Post 778 and American Vets.
He is survived by two children, Lori J. Russo, of Pittsburgh, and Frank J. Russo III, of Butler; three sisters, Barbara Russo, of Frisco, TX, Marsha Russo, of Butler, and Sherry Russo-Card and her husband, Kevin, of Portland, OR; one grandson, Tony Russo, and his beloved nephew, Nick Russo, of DeBary, FL.
He was preceded in death by one son, Tony Michael Russo, who passed away January 21, 1994; and one brother, Nicodemus Russo, who passed away January 10, 1991.
Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Avenue, Butler, on Wednesday from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., followed by a Blessing Service at the funeral home at 8 p.m.
Burial will take place in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
