Frank R. Springer, 81, of Butler, PA, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022, under the care of Butler VA Community Living Center.
Born May 18, 1941, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Harry Springer and the late Maria (Rossi) Cunningham.
Frank served his country honorably as a helicopter mechanic in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He owned and operated Springer Brothers Clothing Stores and drove bus for 20 years. Frank was a member of the American Legion Post #778 in Lyndora and enjoyed spending his time swimming, going to the beach, traveling to Erie and working on cars.
Frank is survived by his wife, Jeanie M. (Renwick) Springer, whom he married on September 17, 1988, two sons: Scott R and Mark Springer, both of Butler; his step-daughter: Michelle Trott of Baltimore, MD; two grandchildren: Keri Ann and Larissa Springer; four step-grandchildren: Lindsey and Casey Avery, and Kory and Kyle Trott; his step-great granddaughter: Lilly Thomas; two brothers: Edward and the late Florence Cunningham and Robert Hefferin and his wife Carmella, both of New Castle, two sisters: Tish Cunningham and her late husband Marius Nielsen of Pittsburgh and Mary Lou Haybarger and her husband Samuel of New Castle, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his stepdaughter: Wendy Jean Russell; his sister: Anna Mae Springer and his brother: Harry Kirk Springer.
All are invited to attend a memorial visitation for Frank on Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 10-11 AM at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 E. North St, Butler, PA 16001. A memorial service will immediately follow at 11 AM with Pastor Joe Flores of Community Alliance Church officiating.
