The executive director of Freeport EMS has been fired.
According to our news partners at WPXI, Chris O’Leath was let go from the position earlier this month. In early 2020, O’Leath was the man responsible for discovering that nearly $100,000 was missing from the Freeport EMS account.
After noticing the irregularities, the board and O’Leath accused Justin DeAngelis, who was the treasurer of Freeport EMS and a council member for Freeport Borough, of taking the money.
That money has since been repaid according to borough officials. No charges have been filed.
O’Leath is looking at potential legal action against the organization.
