WPIAL Girls Volleyball Playoffs:
–Freeport defeated Avonworth 3-0 in the Class 2A Semifinals. The Yellow Jackets will meet Beaver in the championship match Saturday. It will be their seventh title appearance in the last nine years.
Tonight in the Class 4A Semifinals – Seneca Valley will meet Canon-McMillan at Fox Chapel high school at 6pm.
–North Catholic and Oakland Catholic meet in the Class 3A Semifinals at North Allegheny high school at 6pm.
The Moniteau girls defeated Punxsutawney 3-1 last night in the District 9 Class 2A Semifinals. The Warriors will meet Kane Thursday for the D9 title. The match will be played at Brockway high school.
