There were two new cases of COVID-19 for Butler County Friday.
The low number of new cases also coincides with a low number of local hospitalizations.
As of Thursday afternoon, Butler Memorial Hospital was treating one patient for the coronavirus.
Statewide, there were 304 new cases which is a bit of an increase over the past couple of days. However, hospitalizations continue to fall with the state Department of Health saying there are now 300 total patients being treated for COVID-19 in Pennsylvania.
*Newsroom note: Our newsroom will still continue to keep track of COVID-19 cases, but due to the very low number of new cases and low hospitalization rates—we will stop reporting a daily update and instead will switch to a weekly update.
