An event Thursday night looks to help raise funds for a child from Butler with a very rare form of cancer.
Aiden Bartley is a 10-year-old who was diagnosed with adult pancreatic cancer, which is extraordinarily rare in children.
Various organizations have been holding fundraising events to help the Bartley family pay for treatment.
Happening tomorrow at the Beer Garden on Route 38 is Bar Bingo. Doors open at 6 p.m. for the event which will have a 50/50, basket raffle, and bar bingo.
Throughout this time, Bartley’s father Michael says that the community support has been tremendous.
“We are very blessed and thankful to live in the community that we do. The amount of support we have had from everyone in the area has been overwhelming, and we are truly grateful and appreciative of it,” Bartley said.
Aiden’s treatments have recently been happening at Cleveland Clinic, after doctors at UPMC in Pittsburgh declined to take the case due to not having a treatment plan for the very rare cancer.
Aiden’s parents have been tracking Aiden’s story via a Facebook page; they encourage the community to follow along.
