G. H. Keikilani “Keiki” Hewlett Brockley, 63, of Butler, passed away April 26, 2023. She was a devoted wife, proud mother, loving sister and friend.
Keiki was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Theresa Ahono Ho’opi’i Nahinu Hewlett Seaberg and John Hewlett. Keiki was one of 8 children. Growing up in a naval family, she and her family traveled from coast to coast, and she lived in many of the US states.
She graduated from Linesville High School and completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biology at University of Pittsburgh. Keiki was the first of her family to graduate college and was a strong believer in higher education.
For nearly 20 years, Keiki performed research in the neuropharmacology department at University of Michigan. She was published in multiple pharmacology and scientific journals.
She married Dr. Donald Brockley in 2001 and settled in Butler with their daughter. For over 20 years, she managed and ran her husband Dr. Brockley’s & daughter Dr. Gildersleeve’s dental practice.
After Dr. Brockley’s first practice was destroyed in the Morgan Management Fire in Butler in 2003, she had the vision and took it upon herself to build his current office building in the north of Butler.
She took great pride and love in her family, whom she would do absolutely anything for. Keiki was kind, outgoing, spirited, and believed you could do anything you set your mind to. She was a smart and hard working business woman who was well respected by her peers.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 22 years, Dr. Donald Brockley, and her daughter Dr. E. Ahono Gildersleeve. She is also survived by her siblings; Clara (Dennis) Lavanture, Gwen Hewlett, Rodney (Mary) Seaberg, Raymond (Elaine) Seaberg and Antoinette Seaberg, and many nieces and nephews.
She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
