The Pennsylvania Game Commission is the latest to remind drivers of deer on the road.
Officials say deer become more active during this time of year in the lead-up to their fall breeding season, which is known as the rut. It’s around this time when many yearling bucks disperse from their areas and travel to find new ranges.
The Game Commission says that although the peak of whitetail rut is still a few weeks off, deer are already spending more time on the move. That means drivers will see more deer crossing the roads.
They also remind drivers that deer often travel in groups and walk in single file. So if you see one deer, there may be more to come.
