Some students in the Knoch School District are directed to utilize a Flexible Instruction Day today as a result of gas service being shut off.
According to the district website, Knoch High School and Middle School will move to a Flexible Instructional Day which follows a two-hour delay schedule.
This move comes after crews working on the Knoch High School renovation project smelled gas coming from the ground near the end of Monday’s school day. They immediately stopped work and notified the gas company who shut off service.
There is no danger to students or staff. Repairs will begin as soon as possible but no gas service means that the High School and Middle School facilities will not have heat and not be able to cook today.
Knoch Elementary students and staff will operate on a normal schedule.
