Gas prices have declined slightly locally and remained steady across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, dropped by two cents over the past week to $3.32 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole stayed even during that same time at $3.32. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Washington at $3.27 per gallon, while the most expensive is $3.37 in Mercer.
The average national gas price dropped by a penny over the past week to $3.15 which is the lowest since early July. Hurricane Ida has taken most oil production and some refinery capacity offline. AAA expects crude oil and gas prices to increase as a result of reduced supply.
