Gas prices have continued to decline both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, fell by seven cents over the past week to settle at $4.18 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole dropped by a nickel during that same time to reach $4.20. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Altoona at $4.10, while the most expensive is $4.29 in Beaver.
The average national gas price dropped by three cents over the past week to reach $4.08 which is 19 cents less than a month ago. According to AAA, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine has forced the price of crude oil back up to over $100 per barrel. The demand for gas continues to rise.
