Gas prices continue to fall both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of yesterday, dropped by two cents to reach $3.55 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole decreased by six cents to settle at $3.52. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Altoona at $3.28, while the most expensive is in Bradford at $3.76.
The average national gas price fell by seven cents over the past week to reach $3.20. This is 23 cents lower than last month and 67 cents lower than this time last year. Demand for gas decreased and although the price of a barrel of crude oil increased a bit, it is still down overall.
