Gas prices in western Pennsylvania have continued to drop both regionally and locally over the last week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, is $2.27 per gallon which is 10 cents cheaper compared to last week.
Prices dropped by 13 cents across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week, averaging $2.22 per gallon. The cheapest gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $1.90 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.32 in Uniontown.
The average national gas price declined to $2.01 which is 68 cents less than this date last year. AAA expects prices to continue to drop below an average of $2 per gallon for the first time in four years as demand remains low due to public health, financial, and economic concerns.
