Gas prices in western Pennsylvania are continuing to decline both regionally and locally over the last week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, is $2.19 per gallon which is eight cents cheaper compared to last week and 73 cents cheaper than one year ago.
Prices dropped by four cents across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week, averaging $2.18 per gallon. The cheapest gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $1.84 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.31 in Uniontown.
The average national gas price declined to $2.92 which is nice cents less than last week and 48 cents less than one month ago. AAA expects prices to continue to drop as demand hits a nearly 30 year low due to ongoing public health, financial, and economic concerns.
