Gas prices have remained relatively even both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, dropped by a penny to settle at $3.92 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole also decreased by a penny over the same period of time to reach $3.85. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Sharon at $3.66, while the most expensive is in Mercer at $4.00.
The average national gas price dropped by a penny over the past week to reach $3.81. This is two cents less than a month ago but three cents more than one year ago. Both demand for gas and the price of oil increased slightly but concerns about the impact of Hurricane Idalia have largely subsided as many fuel terminals resume operations.
