Gas prices have dropped slightly both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, decreased by a penny to reach $3.95 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole dropped by two cents over the same period of time to settle at $3.92. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Bradford and Brookville at $3.82, while the most expensive is in Mercer at $4.00.
The average national gas price dropped by three cents over the past week to reach $3.81. This is the same as a month ago and two cents higher than one year ago. Demand for gas increased slightly, and the price of oil also increased as the market remains concerned that supply will not be able to meet demand the rest of this year.
